When we treat our dogs like people, we often blur the lines of what they actually need from us. Dogs don’t live in the “gray areas” the way we do. They don’t need long explanations or reasoning. For them, life is black and white: clear rules, clear boundaries, and clear communication.

I want to start this by saying I do not ever, ever, EVER advocate giving someone a dog as a gift. That being said … in 2022, I got my husband a dog for Christmas.

We recently had a health scare with our Bentley when he got into some toxic mushrooms. Fortunately, things turned out okay.
