I want to start this by saying I do not ever, ever, EVER advocate giving someone a dog as a gift. That being said … in 2022, I got my husband a dog for Christmas.

If you know nothing else about Golden Retrievers you’ve probably at least heard they are wonderfully loyal companions, family friendly, easy to train, and highly intelligent. 

One month before the big move our 11 year old heart dog Toby was hit with a sudden and devastating illness. Our world was rocked. Our best little buddy was gone. And somehow we had to keep it together and carry on.
